Welcome to Year 3!

We are so pleased to see all of the children back in school after the summer holidays! It's been lovely to start to get to know our classes and as always we are doing our best to make sure everyone is safe and happy in school.

The children have  settled in well into the junior building and are adjusting to their new environment well. We will update this class page to inform you of key information and we will post photos and videos so you can see what your children have been learning.

The class teachers are:

3P- Mrs Patterson

3H- Mrs Hussain and Mrs Lynch

3C- Miss Chote

Year 3 teaching assistants:

Mrs Akthar

Mrs Ragbotra

The children should have suitable PE kits in school at all times.  Please name all items to prevent them from going missing. Kits should include: white t shirt, black shorts/ leggings and suitable P.E pumps or trainers.

PE days:

3P -Wednesday (swimming this term) and Friday

3H -Wednesday and Thursday

3C- Tuesday and Thursday

Year 3 will be going swimming this year.  This will take place on Wednesdays.  Can you please ensure that the children have a swimming kit in readiness for when their class will be attending.

The children have already brought home a library book. These should be returned by Friday. They will also bring a book home suitable for their reading level next week. Please practise reading at home. It will also need to be returned on a Friday.

Times Table Checks:

As you may be aware we are awarding our children with badges when they can demonstrate that they have memorised specific times tables for their age group.

Year 2 - children should be able to recall their 2,5 and 10 times table off by heart.  If they do this they will be awarded a yellow badge.

Year 3 - children should be able to recall their 3,4 and 8 times table off by heart.  If they do this they will be awarded a blue badge.

Year 4 - children should be able to recall all of their times tables off by heart.  If they do this they will be awarded a Green badge.

Children can attain their green badge in any year group providing they can recall all times table facts!  Last year we had 18 children achieve their green badge in Year 3!!!

We have many exciting things planned for Year 3. Check back on the website for more updates as the term progresses.

Welcome to Anglesey Primary School… Watch our children talking to pop star Jack Savoretti on the BBC .Information about Isolation if someone in the household has tested positive for Covid. The following information is taken directly from a Public Health webinar with Dr Justin Varney: Director of Public Health, Birmingham City Council. (06.01.22) If someone in your household has tested positive and your child is 5 years old or over, they should come into school. The child should do daily lateral flow tests. If someone in your household has tested positive and your child is under 5, then they should stay at home with the person who has tested positive until the isolation period is over.
