Number bonds to 5.

 

 

Yesterday you worked through some numicon number bond challenges!

 

Today we would like you to create your own number bonds.

 

For this activity you will need a piece of paper with a big circle drawn on it.

You will also need 5 small objects. You could use pieces of pasta, or little stones, or bottle lids.

 

Stand away from the piece of paper and then throw all of the 5 items- aiming for the circle.

 

Look at how the objects fall.

 

-How many are IN-side the circle and how many are OUT-side the circle?

 

-How is the 5 made up? (e.g. 4 in the circle and 1 out of the circle)

 

Discuss these questions with your grownup.
