Online Lessons 

The Oak National Academy is providing 30 lessons for those who normally receive their education in specialist settings, covering language and communication, numeracy, independent living, and creative arts.

They also have a therapeutic offer, comprising three speech and language sessions.

As part of the response to changes in our service as a result of Covid-19 Coronavirus we have set up an advice line to provide on-going support to families and professionals:

Speech and Language Therapy Advice Line

You can contact the Speech and language Therapy Team for therapy advice, strategies and support for parents / carers, schools and other professionals in relation to a child’s / young person’s communication skills or eating, drinking and swallowing concerns.

The phone line will be open Monday to Friday 9am – 4pm

The child or young person must be:

·         Aged 0-18 years (up to 19 only if in full time special school education)

·         Registered with a Birmingham GP or attending a Birmingham School

We plan to go live with the phone line on Monday 20^th April so please do let any of your families know that they can contact the service for support via the phone line. We will be publicising this across education platforms, Health Visitors (BFS) and various social networks. Please do get back to me with any other ideas of where we could share this information.

We will also be advertising the number on our webpages and in various letters and communications with families.
