A few examples of what we get up to in Year 4.
The children at Anglesey have been learning all about Lunar New year including the traditions, customs and celebrations that people across the world enjoy at this exciting time of year.
Children in Year 4 have been using their knowledge of materials to choose what equpiment they want to built their toy. They have built and developed designs and troubloshooted any issues to produce an end product that meats their requirments. DT is so much fun
Our children have been using their prior skills and knowledge to code using the new BBC Micro:bit computers. These skills can be applied to all sorts of different computing apications.
Children working as team to find the melting point of differnt materials, also investigating to work out which materials warm up quickest and hold their heat over time.... complex stuff!
The children in year 4 have been looking at electricty as part of their science topic. This week we had a whole day dedicated to everything electric!
The children work out a plan on their own to make some profit. They think about what the gap in the market it, calculate their costs, think about their margin and make some sweet, sweet profit!
Children are doing some of their own investiagtions to work out what sound is.
Children explored an old haunted house to find the mysteries within. This will support us with our story about the hidden treasures of ancient Egypt.
In year 4 we have been using Minecraft to make fractions. What creations can you make in Minecraft? Send them in to us!
After the children made their own tudor houses, we decided to see what would happen if there was a fire. As with the Great fire of London, The Great Fire of Anglesey didn't go too well for the old dry wood houses.
Breaking news, Protestant England is under attack! The Catholic Spanish have sent an armada of ships to secure the English coast and launch a full scale invasion from the Netherlands... Will the succeed, or wil lthe crafty ENglish come up with a plan to thwart them.
After learning about the way Tudor people lived, Year 4 came up with a plan and organised them selves to recreate a Tudor home. The inquisitive children worked independently with great resilience.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
