FRACTIONS
Hello children. You have been working on PERIMETER for a few weeks now. Today you are going to move on to FRACTIONS. This unit of works goes over information that you should remember from Year 2 - so some of you might find it a bit easy. However, it is important to watch and listen to the video carefully because it will remind you of what you know and help you to remember. Then have a go a the worksheet below. I hope you enjoy.

Good morning Year 3 our last lesson this week on length and perimeter. Are you ready?, lets begin.
Thursday 24/02/12
I know you are all still in shock from your English task today and how unusual it was, so to calm you down a bit, I've decided today you can have a games day in maths.
Below is a selection of different games I want you to have ago at. No homework needs to be emailed in, just have a go.
Game 1
This has no right or wrong, but it lets you play with different shapes to see the changing perimeter and area (how many shapes can you make with the same perimeter and area?)

Subtract Lengths
Have your pencil and paper ready. Watch the video carefully and pause it if you need to. Then have a go at the worksheet. The answers are also posted below so you can check your work yourself when you have finished.
REMEMBER:
To measure accurately you must start at zero.
10mm = 1cm
100cm = 1m
millimeters are really small so measure carefully
