We will be investigating the exciting world of rocks, looking at how the earth has been formed and what amazing things we can discover by examining the world around us. We will be comparing the geology of different areas around the Birmingham region and investigating maps to discover more about out own nation.

English

We will be looking at the book Sheep Pig by Dick King Smith. To start with the children will be making a biography and learning the skills of research and non fiction. We will then go on to discover more about the novel and practise some of our non fiction writing skills. We will be making a female villain and creating our own story by the end of the term.

Maths

We will be focusing on mainly on fraction and statistics this term. Understanding what a fraction is, looking at fractions of shape then number and beginning to compare fractions. Later in the term we will be moving on to statistics. We will also be reviewing work we have done so far and consolidating our understanding of calculus.

Homework

Children will receive a weekly spelling test as well as times tables.

It is expected that children will know all their times tables from 0 - 12 by the end of the year. The more you can help at home, the better.

Every Thursday we collect School Fund and ask for a small contribution.

If you have any question, please just come and speak to any one of the team at the end of the day and we will do our best to assist you in any matter.
