Fun Friday Literacy - Create a poster

We thought you might like a bit of a break from Mrs Considine, so today we would like you to design and create a POSTER about plastic pollution. Mr Jordan talked about the environment and pollution yesterday during the live lesson, and you can watch the video below for information and inspiration!

  • Your poster should be informative (include some interesting FACTS)
  • It should have a TITLE  (maybe also subheadings and bullet points)
  • It could include diagrams with labels and other pictures.
  • Your poster should explain (with words and pictures) what the problem is, and what we can do to help things get better.
  • If you can, make it colourful and eye-catching.

When you have finished, we'd LOVE for you to send us a picture of your poster to the Y3 email address, or to google classroom.

SPAG

Do I write 'a' or 'an'?

We can sort the letters of the alphabet into two groups - VOWELS and CONSONANTS

The vowels are: a, e, i, o, u

ALL the other letters of the alphabet are consonants

Usually, we put 'a' before words that start with a consonant and 'an' before words that start with a vowel.

e.g.      It was an honour to meet the Queen.

I would love to ride a unicorn.

'a' or 'an'?

Which word would you use in the spaces below?

1. We saw _______ lion at the zoo.

2. I eat ________ apple every day.

3. ________ umbrella is useful when it rains.

4. I drive ________ red  car.

5. Dad spent _______ hour waiting in traffic.
