YEAR 5 SPRING PLANNING 2024

On Friday 2nd February 2024 Year 5 were invited to spend some time at King Edwards High School. During a lesson taught by King Edwards staff, they conducted a science investigation into separating materials - corn, sand, salt iron filings and water. They learnt the names of scientific equipment, such as beakers, measuring cylinders and filter papers and were able to use the Bunsen Burners. They had a wonderful and informative trip and can't wait to conduct some more investigations back at Anglesey.

Last week Year 5 went to see the River Severn in Bewdley as part of their Geography topic. They had to consider the features of the river and river bank - including the width of the river, and the flow and direction of the water. The children also learnt about the affect that flooding has had on the town and the flood defenses  in place to protect people, buildings, shops and buisnesses in the future.

It was a lovely sunny day and the children really enjoyed studying the river. Also, lots of local people made a point of talking to the staff to let them know how polite and well behaved the children were. Well done Year 5!!!
