Literacy

Today we are going to be using what we have done this week to write a setting description

You've already thought about adjectives and yesterday you chose a place and thought about everything you could see, hear, smell, taste and touch. Now you have to put it all together and write sentences about it.

Here is an example of my work from yesterday for the farm and some adjectives I chose to describe it.

And here is an example of a setting description when I put it all together in sentences.

The Farm

The sun was shining brightly in the sky, making it a warm day. All of the animals were coming out of the barns and the chickens were running around waiting to be fed their food. The farmers were driving the tractors and bringing the hay in from the fields. The air smelled of food and mud, because it had rained the day before. Eggs were being collected for breakfast by the children and they were laughing because a couple of eggs were dropped and looked really slimy and messy! Sunny really liked the farm.

Write your own sentences to describe your favourite place on a piece of paper.
