DLD Awareness Day

Friday 15th October, was the Raising Awareness Day about DLD (Developmental Language Disorder)

The children with DLD have difficulty understanding what people say to them, and struggle to articulate their ideas and feelings.

To find out more information about DLD and how you can support a person with DLD, be sure to visit the RADLD website.

Also, look out for pictures of Cadbury world all lit up in purple!

In our school, all the teachers and the children wore purple or yellow clothes and took part in assemblies and discussions about DLD.

The children should have suitable PE kits in school at all times.  Please name all items to prevent them from going missing. Kits should include: white t-shirt, black shorts/ leggings and suitable PE pumps or trainers.

PE days are Monday and Wednesday

The children have a class library book of their own choice each week and also have a reading book, suitable for their reading level. Please practise reading at home. Please keep their reading book in their book-bags.

SL1 are learning about their bodies and SL2 are learning about plants. Please ask your child questions about these topics at home and help them consolidate their learning at home.

Welcome to Anglesey Primary School… Watch our children talking to pop star Jack Savoretti on the BBC .Information about Isolation if someone in the household has tested positive for Covid. The following information is taken directly from a Public Health webinar with Dr Justin Varney: Director of Public Health, Birmingham City Council. (06.01.22) If someone in your household has tested positive and your child is 5 years old or over, they should come into school. The child should do daily lateral flow tests. If someone in your household has tested positive and your child is under 5, then they should stay at home with the person who has tested positive until the isolation period is over.
