Welcome to Year 2!

We are so pleased to see all of the children back in school after the summer holidays! It's been lovely to start to get to know our classes and as always we are doing our best to make sure everyone is safe and happy in school. We will update this class page to inform you of key information and we will post photos and videos so you can see what your children have been learning.

PE:

The children should have suitable PE kits in school at ALL times.  Please NAME all items to prevent them from going missing. Kits should include: white t-shirt, black shorts/ leggings and suitable pumps or trainers. During the colder months a tracksuit top and bottoms help to keep the children warm outside.

Reading:

The children will be given a library book to take home. Please support your children's education by listening to them read out loud and talking about what they have read. Encourage them to ask questions.  Books should be looked after and cared for at home and returned to the school promptly.

Maths:

To support your children's understanding of Mathematics please take every opportunity to teach them about money - all the different coins, how they add up and how to work out change. You could also look at and talk about how to read the time on both analogue and digital clocks.

Homework:

It's not school policy to give out homework to Year 2 children but occasionally worksheets will be handed out. Please support and encourage your child to complete the homework to the best of their ability.

Please check this website regularly for updates and information.

If you have any questions, please email us at y2@anglesey.bham.sch.uk putting your child's name and class in the subject line.
