Number bonds to 5.

 

 

Today in Maths we are going to be looking at number bonds to 5 using the ‘Part Whole’ model.

This model is the concept of how numbers can be split into parts and this is done by using a triangle of circles.

This model helps children with addition and subtraction problems as it helps the child to see the relationship between the whole number and the component parts.

 

Open the powerpoint below and work through the challenges to develop your understanding of number bonds to 5 using the Part Whole model.
