Literacy

Hi everyone! Today's task is a straightforward one. All week we have been learning about rhyme in poetry. Today I would like you to write your own poem that features rhyme. If you wish, you can use the verse you created on the twinkle twinkle little star worksheet. You can however create a new poem about anything you like: a dog; a squirrel; nature or anything at all really! Try to have three verses (the name for paragraphs in poetry) with four lines in each (sentences). Not every line needs to rhyme but we would love to see some rhyming couplets. Below is a blank sheet with lines but if you'd rather be a bit more creative, then you can. For example : creating a video; drawing pictures around the poem, or even writing the poem in the shape of what you are talking about. Send the poetry to the usual email address and some of the good work will feature on the website. As ever, have fun!
