Trips

We have been on two educational trips this term, we visited Bewdley and the River Cole for field study work. The children really enjoyed the trips and many of the children said how much they enjoyed visiting the town of Bewdley.

PE

Our sports coach Luke has worked with all of the children in the year group throughout the year. It has been really pleasing to see so many children develop their sporting skills, not only with Luke, but also with the other coaches that have taught the children this year.

Attendance

Attending school regularly means that your children will learn and progress. Each week we have a prize draw for the children with 100% attendance. The winner for each week earns a place on the bus for the end of year trip! A number of children in our year group were lucky enough to win a place on the bus for the trip this year. Well done to all of those children who went on the trip and to those children who have had excellent attendance throughout the school year.

Homework

It is really important for the children to be able to recall the multiplication and division facts for the multiplication tables up to 12 x 12. Over the holiday period, the children should try to spend 20 minutes each day recalling these multiplication facts. We would like the children to have a rapid recall of these facts and the work that the children do at home will help with this. Those children that do know the multiplication facts should recall the prime numbers up to 19, square numbers and cube numbers.

Ask your children about the Number Fun songs that they have been learning in their lessons this year. These have been a great way for the children to learn many new concepts in their lessons.

A really good website to help your child is www.amathsdictionaryforkids.com

Why not take your child to one of the libraries in the city over the summer? You could ask your child to write a book review on a recent book that he or she many have read.

Thank you for your continued help and support.

Tickets for Schools

For the third season running we joined a scheme with Aston Villa Football Club which gave your child the opportunity to watch Premier League football matches at Aston Villa Football Club. For every game this season, local schools who participated in the scheme were provided with free tickets for matches at Villa Park.

A new scheme will be launched soon for the new season to watch the Championship. If you would like to know more about this scheme, please visit Mr O’Connell in September and he will be more than happy to help you and provide you with tickets. You can also visit www.avfc.co.uk and look in the tickets section for further details.

Thank you to everyone who has used the tickets over the last three seasons.
