Mrs Ali and Mrs Rahman will work with all three classes to support children throughout Year 6 and in the build up to the SATs tests in May.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to speak to any of the class teachers who are available on the Year 6 doors in the morning and at the end of the day.

In topic, Year 6 children have been learning about recycling and on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th October 2017, we will visit Atherstone to see how rubbish is dealt with and looking at the location of a food recycling plant called Biogen. If the Biogen did not exist, then all this waste would go to a landfill which creates a poisonous gas and a liquid called Leachate.

30 children from Year 6 got chosen for an overnight stay at the Brighouse in Atherstone on 4th October 2017. The children will be accompanied by Mrs Skinner, Mrs Penn, Mr Bentley, Mr O’Connell and Mr Singh. During this trip the children will get to experience nature and go on a night walk to see what it is like when there is no light pollution.

Children in Year 6 need to be reading for at least 20 minutes every night after school.

They must also practice their times tables daily to secure their recall of these facts up to 12 x 12.

They are also required to be able to recall their prime numbers up to 100 and be able to explain whether a number is or isn't prime.

POPPY APPEAL: We raised £322.46 for the Poppy Appeal. Well done everyone! REMEMBER: The school Christmas Fair will be Wednesday 6th December at the Juniors, 4-6pm. You can help by bringing in full bottles e.g. shampoo, drinks, books and toys, prizes for the raffle, sweets (halal). Please see Miss Coleman (1C) if you would like to help.
