Bostin' Brum - Queen Victoria

As well as learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel, we will also be learning about one of the most famous British monarchs in history, Queen Victoria. Our current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning monarch in British history on 9th September 2015. Before this date, it was Queen Victoria who had reigned longer than any other monarch. She reigned for 63 years, 7 months and 2 days.

There is a great video saved below that you can watch to learn all about her life.

When we return to school we will be using our sentence stacking lessons to write about her life and her achievements.

Queen Victoria 1819-1901

Queen Victoria was the monarch who gave her name to an era of discovery, invention and change in Britain.

In this short film, we learn a little about her personal history as we delve into Queen Victoria's diaries. Narrator Scherrikar Bell highlights some of the amazing things to have come from Queen Victoria’s reign, as well as some of the inventions that were created during her time as queen, for example photography.

This short film explains how Queen Victoria was the longest reigning monarch until our current queen, Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout the film we touch on history and geography while we talk about the British Empire, art and society.
