Playgroup first opened up in November 2000, set up as a small family orientated playgroup within a small community room, staff in this small playgroup are highly knowledgeable about how young children learn. The playgroup has been flourishing over the years and has made excellent progress in achieving good results and recognition for all the hard work contributed by the community and the children and dedication given by the committee of the playgroup. The playgroup is based within the voluntary sector.
Children flourish in the playgroup and make significant progress in their learning and development. On the whole, their welfare is extensively safeguarded at all times. Children's diverse needs are met at the playgroup.
The playgroup sharply focuses on planning which ensures all children’s learning styles are addressed and children make rapid progress in relation to their starting points.
Sessions we offer: Mon-Fri: 9.00-12.00 12.30-3.30
We offer the free nursery education grant for children aged 2, 3, and 4, for families that meet the eligibility criteria. 15 hours part time sessions 5 days a week.
The playgroup staff and management team have an excellent drive for improvement.
Awards:
Anglesey playgroup was entered for the Era 2020, the Education Resources Awards, the manager, Ms Bi, was a finalist in December 2019.
Ms Bi went on to win the Leadership in Education Award in April 2020 when the final results were announced.

Achievements:
Ofsted reports: The quality and standards of the playgroup provision was Outstanding in 2008 Narrowing the gap.
17th October 2011 and most recent on the 9th October 2019 were also graded Outstanding.
Celebrations:
We have had visits from the Lord Mayor and the local Councillors and the MP taking part in our diverse celebrations. We held events to celebrate the success of the playgroup where the MP took part in playing with the children.
